SRINAGAR: Flash floods, suspected to have been triggered by a cloudburst, struck the Barkuanda area of Bupp in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district during the early hours of Friday, affecting several households and prompting an immediate response from the local administration.
Officials said three affected families were evacuated as a precaution and shifted to the Government Middle School at Barkuanda, where temporary arrangements have been made for their stay.
No casualties have been reported in the incident, officials said.
The administration has launched an assessment of the damage caused by the flash floods, while monitoring the situation in the affected area.
