SRINAGAR: Moderate rainfall continued across several parts of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, with the Meteorological Centre Srinagar forecasting intermittent showers through the day and warning of another spell of moderate to heavy rain in the Jammu division later next week.
According to the MeT Centre, moderate rain is continuing over many areas of south Kashmir, the Chenab Valley and parts of the Pir Panjal range. Light to moderate rainfall is expected at many places during the early hours of July 24 and is likely to continue intermittently until the afternoon before weather conditions improve.
The department has forecast scattered rain and thundershowers, accompanied by brief intense showers, at a few places between July 25 and 27, mainly in the Jammu division.
A fresh spell of moderate to heavy rainfall is likely to affect the Jammu division from July 28 to 30, the MeT Centre said.
The weather department has advised residents to remain cautious, warning that moderate to heavy rainfall and brief intense showers could occur in parts of south Kashmir and the Jammu division during the forecast period.
