A group of unemployed youth from Kashmir Valley on Wednesday completed ‘two weeks vocational training’ of JCB operator under the aegis of 12 sector RR, Balapur Shopian in South Kashmir. 44 Rashtriya Rifles conducted a vocational training programme on excavator loader (JCB).

“This training was aimed at imparting useful and functional skills in handing of excavator loader to the youth,” Brigadier A Pramod Kumar said.

“Keeping in view the present situation of flood in the valley, we thought it as a need of the hour to train local boys to tackle any bad situation if faced. These boys are fully trained by our instructors,” CO 44 RR, Col Bazard said.

The training cadre was for a duration of two weeks from 18 march 2015 to 01 April 2015 and was conducted for a group of 25 youth hailing from villages of Shirmaal, Wathoo, Zoura, Bongam and Shopian.

“The food and equipment was catered by the army during the training. The cadre was conducted by the well qualified officers and operators of 12 Engineer regiment. The trainees have been assessed by the technical team of the unit and certificates of proficiency have been awarded to them,” he said.

The trainees were awarded certificated today by the Brigadier.

“I am very much happy that I completed my four weeks vocational training on excavator loader,” Touseef Ahmad, a 12th Class pass student of Wathoo, Shopian said.
