A deputation of Footpath Union Tuesday called on Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, to apprise him of their issues.
The deputation put forth various demands like their inclusion in the Below Poverty Line (BPL) category, provision of government sponsored social welfare schemes, their registration with the Labour Commission, provision of loans with low interest rates, place for them at the forthcoming Polo View market etc.
The Divisional Commissioner assured the delegation that their genuine concerns will be looked into and addressed on priority. He asked the DC Srinagar to include the said vendors in the list of those offered spots at the forthcoming market at Polo View.
C Srinagar Farooq Ahmad Lone, officials from FCS&CA, Social Welfare Department and Jammu & Kashmir Bank attended the meeting.
