District Development Commissioner Srinagar today chaired a meeting to review the preparedness of Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) programme to be held in the district on January 29, 2017.

The meeting deliberated upon measures like manpower, transport, training of health workers, cold chain maintenance, funds etc for the successful anti-polio drive.

On the occasion, the DDC directed the CMO to ensure that all the medical and para-medical staff deployed for the immunization process should attend their duties diligently.

The meeting was informed that the target population for pulse polio immunization drive in Srinagar is 183861 for which 647 booths will be set up at different locations in the district. While as 2697 health workers would be deployed at these pulse polio booths.

The DDC stressed that effective measures should be adopted to achieve 100 percent target and directed the officers that no child below the age of 5 years remains left out of the immunization drive.

CMO Srinagar, HOD Social & Preventive Medicine GMC Srinagar, Deputy CMO, District Immunization Officer, CEO Srinagar, District Program Officer (ICDS), SDM (East), ADMO ISM, CDPOs, BMO Hazratbal, ZMOs and Extension Educator attended the meeting.
