A few days after Mufti-led government arrested senior Hurriyat leader Masrat Alam “for raising pro-Pakistan slogans and unfurling Pakistani flag”, Home Minister Rajnath Singh Monday congratulated J-K CM Mufti Muhammad Sayeed for the step.
“The Indian government will not tolerate seditious acts,” Singh said.
Pertinently, Alam along with other Hurriyat leaders had organised a rally in Srinagar to welcome separatist Hurriyat Conference leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani on Wednesday.
BJP-led New Delhi government took a serious note when the supporters raised pro-Pakistan slogans and waved Pakistani flags in the rally, though many said that unfurling Pakistani flag and pitching pro-Pakistani slogans were nothing new in Kashmir.
