Forces on Wednesday blasted a house in Bomai area of Sopore town in Baramulla district.

Reports said that forces used IED explosives to blast the house that holds militants.

However, they said the exchange of fire between suspected militants and forces is still on.

Earlier, a gunfight erupted between forces and suspected militants in the area. Top police sources said a Pakistani militant is in the siege and the fire fighting is going in. He is believed to be a Pakistani national who operates under the alias of Abu Bakar.

Authorities have snapped telephone link to the region and right now only BSNL is operating. They said the telecommunication was snapped to prevent civilians from getting information about the encounter till it is over. Civilians have been getting into the cordon areas and it created an ugly situation in south Kashmir recently, one official said.

Meanwhile, reports said that clashes between forces and youth erupted in Sopore town of the northern district of valley, Baramulla on Wednesday.

However, the reason of the clashes was not immediately known.
