The Old Srinagar traders association Friday evening said that they have called for a shutdown in the area tomorrow (Saturday) against the “injuring of a shopkeeper in Gojwara due to pellets”.
Nazir Ahmad Shah, president Shahr-e-Khaas Traders Federation told KNS that the traders in Downtown area will observe shutdown to protest the government forces “excesses on us”.
“A shopkeeper, Sajad Ahmad Khan, 35, was injured in his head due to pellets fired by police and CRPF after Friday prayers in Jamia Masjid. We will not tolerate these atrocities,” Shah said.
He said that Khan has been admitted to SKIMS for treatment.
He said that the teargas shelling and firing pellets have become a routine for the forces.
“Every Friday, we witness teargas shelling and pelter firing by police and CRPF. How can we do business in such an atmosphere,” Shah said.
