A fresh batch of 24 aspiring entrepreneurs Friday passed out from Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) after completing the three-week training programme. The aspirants include females as well.
The candidates were trained at JKEDI Main Campus, Pampore under Seed Capital Fund Scheme (SCFS) and Youth Start-Up Loan Scheme (YSLS) being implemented by the institute for entrepreneurship development in the State.
The three-week Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) modelled for agri-allied sectors including food processing started on February 01, 2016 and is the first training programme to culminate after the February 20 gunfight.
Sharing their experiences at the valediction ceremony, the trained aspirants hailed the training curriculum which they said has given them confidence to start their entrepreneurial journey.
Tahir Nabi, a management graduate said he was impressed with the work culture at JKEDI especially the training module being imparted to the aspiring entrepreneurs.
“Despite the unfortunate incident at JKEDI campus on February 20th, the institute started its training activities within a week which is in itself a compliment. It was a tremendous effort on part of the institute,” said Tahir who intends to start a sheep farm.
“The 21-day-long training at JKEDI has boosted my confidence. It has shown me the way to realize the dream of setting up a food processing unit,” feels Rifat Jabeen, who has Masters degree in Kashmiri language.
The unemployed youth, who are all set to start their entrepreneurial journey said they expect further hand-holding by JKEDI once they start their business ventures.
