SRINAGAR: The counter insurgent forces on Saturday late night launched a cordon and search operation in Avind-Rawalpora area in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.

Reports said that a joint team of army’s 34RR, SOG of Jammu Kashmir Police and  14 battalion CRPF cordoned off the Avind-Rawalpora area in Shopian at around 2 am.

They said the CASO was launched in the village following inputs about the presence of militants.

Sources said that large numbers of forces have been deployed in the area and door to door search operation is going on.
