Government forces Wednesday late night launched cordon and search operation in Pastuna area of Tral in Pulwama district.

According to reports a joint team of Jammu & Kashmir police, army’s 42 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and 180 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has launched the operation in the area following specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area.

Locals told Kashmir Life that forces have asked the people to come out of their homes and have sealed all the entry and exit points.

Installing lights in the adjacent fields, a police official said the security grid will ensure that militants don’t escape from the area.

“We have specific inputs about the presence of militants and would ensure they don’t escape,” a police officer told Kashmir Life.
