A militant was killed in an encounter in Hajin area of Bandipora district on Thursday morning, police, according to reports said.
“Army and Special Operations Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir Police cordoned off the Shakoor Din Mohalla locality of Hajin after specific inputs about the presence of militants,” reports quoting officials said.
He said that militants opened fire at the forces, triggering an encounter.
A militant was killed in the operation while other militant managed to escape, said the official.
Meanwhile, DGP S P Vaid tweeted, “One militant of LET apparently killed in an encounter in Hajin, Bandipore today morning in a joint operation of J&K Police/Army/ CRPF.”
