SRINAGAR

Condemning the “reign of terror” unleashed by authorities especially in Old Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir, separatist leader Javaid Mir Tuesday said forcing youth to observe Eid behind bars is a glare example of terror unleashed by the ruling dispensation.

Mir also condemned the continued detention of pro-freedom leaders including Muhmammad Qasim, Shafi Sheryati, Masarat Alam, Ghulam Qadir Bhat, Zahoor Bhat, Muzzafar Dar and others languished in many jails of India including Javaid Ahmad Khan, Abdul Ghani Goni, Latief Ahmad Waja, Mirza Nissar-ul-Hassan and Muhmmmad Ali Bhat.

Terming allegations on senior separatist leader Firdous Ahmad Shah as tradition tactics of Indian government and Indian media to pressurize the Kashmiri pro-freedom leadership, Mir said such tactics and petty politicking could in no way weaken the resolve of Kashmiris, adding, the struggle would continue till it would reach its logical conclusion.

Meanwhile commenting over the ruling of High Court whereby it directed the state government to deport five Pakistan nationals within six weeks, Mir welcomed the single bench judgment, and hoped that all such prisoners including Kashmiris will be released who have completed their term.
