SRINAGAR: A major fire broke out in the Gadool forest area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Monday evening, officials said.
According to sources, flames were noticed spreading rapidly through the forest compartment, following which teams from the Forest Department and local volunteers rushed to the spot to contain the blaze. Firefighting efforts were underway till last reports came in.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. Further details are awaited. (KNC)
