Unknown gunmen opened fire on a former Sarpanch of National Conference in Qazigund area in southern part of Kashmir, reports said on Tuesday.
Identified as Nazir Ahmad Shah son of Ali Mohammad Shah is a resident of Panzath Qazigund.
He was shifted to Islamabad district hospital where his condition is said to be stable.
