VC MeetThe Forum of Vice Chancellor’s of J&K Universities Thursday met at the University of Kashmir to deliberate upon issues concerning academics and research activities in the varsities.

The high-level meeting was attended by Prof Khurshid Iqbal Andrabi, Vice Chancellor University of Kashmir; Prof Mehraj-ud-Din Mir, Vice Chancellor Central University of Kashmir; Prof R D Sharma, Vice Chancellor University of Jammu; Prof Mushtaq Siddiqui, Vice Chancellor Islamic University of Science and Technology Awantipora; Prof Sanjeev Jain, Vice Chancellor, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University Katra Jammu, Prof Nazir Ahmad, Vice Chancellor SKUAST-Kashmir, and Dr Rajat Gupta, Director National Institute of Technology Srinagar.

The Vice-Chancellors held a threadbare discussion on 3rd Amendment of University Grants Commission-2010 regulations on appointment of teaching staff and maintenance of standards in higher education. The members suggested that the 3rd amendment be further discussed among deans and faculty members of the universities for the feedback.

The Vice Chancellors also held a detailed discussion on concerns expressed by youth of Ladakh region, through some representations, about higher education opportunities for them, and evolved a consensus in this regard.

The Vice Chancellors’ Forum also vowed to meet frequently to discuss issues of mutual concern and interest and evolve policies in tune with the changing global scenario vis-a-vis higher education, and also in line with the local societal requirements.

  1. Unierty ife is the final student life for the P.G students. Entering the university permises without wearing a proper uniform looks vulgarity. There should have been proper and strict rules for the same. But unfortunately nothing islike that. Moreover poor students are unable to bring the high prised suits . I hope u will take the action for the same.
