SRINAGAR: Police arrested four drug peddlers and seized a large quantity of narcotic substances in two separate operations in Anantnag.
“At a checkpoint in Gund Baba Khalil, a Police Post Sangam team intercepted a Santro car (JK13A-5700) and recovered 21 kilograms of raw narcotics, including cannabis seeds. The accused, identified as Mohd Ayoub Kumar and Javid Ahmad Kumar, both residents of Waghama, were arrested. The vehicle was also seized,” police said.
“In a separate incident, a Police Station Bijbehara team intercepted a motorcycle at Zirpara near GDC Bijbehara. Around 128 grams of charas-like substance was recovered from two persons—Sahil Ahmad Khanday of Zirpara and Amir Sohail of Karewa Colony, Bijbehara.”
Cases under the NDPS Act have been registered and further investigation is underway.
