Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested four  Over-ground workers (OGWs) ofJaish Muhammad (JeM)  militant outfit from Sopore town of north Kashmir.

A police spokesperson in a statement said that acting on a specific information, Sopore Police with the assistance of 22 RR 177/BN CRPF and 179/BN CRPF laid a joint naka at Fruitmandi crossing Sopore on Tuesday evening and arrested 4 OGW’s of proscribed militant outfit JeM outfit.

“The accused has been identified as Mohammad Ayoub Malla son of Ghulam  Hassan Malla resident of Malgonipor, Fayaz Ahmad War son of Ghulam Mohiuddin War resident of Warpora, Javid Ahmad War son of Abdul Rehman War resident of Warpora, Maqsood Ahmad war son of Mohd Yousuf War resident of Duchanpora Rohama ,” said police spokesman in a statement.

“From their possession  UBGL – 02, HE 36 Grenades -02 and matrix sheets of JeM Outfit were recovered,” he said.

“In this regard a  Case FIR NO. 174/18  U/S 7/25 Arms Act, 13 ULA stands registered in Police Station Sopore and investigation set into motion,” the spokesman said.
