SRINAGAR: The Gujrat Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) is said to have busted an Islamic State (IS) module in the coastal town of Porbandar and arrested four accused, including a woman on Saturday.

Police claimed that it had received inputs that three militants were planning to move outside India via Gujarat and during the operation to stop them, they were arrested.

For the last several days, Gujarat ATS special squad has been working in Porbandar and neighbouring regions for special operations. “During their operations, the ATS detained five people including a woman associated with the ISJK organization,” police said.

“Acting on the tip-off, a team of Gujarat ATS early morning of June 9, set up a watch at Porbandar railway station and identified the three youths and held them and questioned them,” the DGP said.

The three arrested from Porbandar were identified as Ubaid Nazir, Hanan Hayat Shawl & Mohammad Hazim Shah.

Upon their disclosure, two more suspects including Sumaira Bano of Surat and one Zubair Ahmed Munshi of Kashmir were arrested.

ATS said that they had had been radicalized by the extremist organization and were being transported to Afghanistan by sea via Iran to join Islamic State Khorasan Province.
