One more militant has been killed in the ongoing encounter between forces and militants in Phutlipora village of Pakherpora in central Kashmir’s Budgam district taking the toll to four, so far, an army spokesperson said.

Earlier, the Special Operations Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir Police and 10 Garhwal of army cordoned off Futlipora Thursday morning around 6 am after “specific inputs” about the presence of militants.

“As the forces approached the suspected house, the militants opened fire, triggering a gunfight,” they said.

Four youth were injured in clashes near the site of the gunfight in Futlipora village and Pakherpora main chowk.

Reports said that youth took to streets and pelted the forces with stones to disrupt the anti-militant operation.
