Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council Wednesday selected four International football players of the state for the Sher-e-Kahmir Sports Award.
A cash of Rs 25,000 and Rs 20,000 will be awarded to Mehraj-ud-din Wadoo, Arun Malhotra, Ishfaq Ahmad and Jhony Sharma on April 16, by the chief minister Omar Abdullah at Zorawar Auditorium Hall in University of Jammu.
Out of four selected players, three are presently representing reputed clubs across India. Only Johny Sharma is playing for J&K Bank Football XI.
This positive step taken by the J&K State Sports Council is sure to boost the morale of the youngsters who look forward to choose soccer as their career.
Pertinently, earlier, seven players that were recruited in the Accountant General Office as Auditors and Accountants by All India Selection Committee four out of them were major football players of the state.
