Three Girdawars holding the additional charges of Patwari’s were placed under suspension by District Administration Islamabad on Thursday after their role was established in malpractices and corruption.

Meanwhile, scores of Patwari’s staged a protest against Tehsildar Islamabad who alleged that the said official along with his PSO’s raided the houses of two Girdawars during the dead of the night and ransacked the belongings there.

Tehsildar, Islamabad, Muzafar Hussain Malik told a local news agency, CNS that certain Girdawars who hold the charge of Patwari’s illegally are indulging in malpractices. “After inquiry it was established that three Girdawars namely, Syed Ghulam Jeelani, Ghulam Hassan Dar and Muzafar Ahmed Bhat have been attesting notary fraudulently and in exchange were receiving hefty bribes. We placed these tainted trio under suspension,” Malik said.

He said that it is an established fact now these officials in league with land mafia were providing permissions for raising commercial structures on agricultural land. “We are following High Court directions and action would be taken against those persons who raised such structures.

Tehsildar Islamabad confirmed that the houses of two Girdawars were raided during late hours. “We raided the houses of two Girdawars to seal the documents attested by them fraudulently,” he said adding that law will take its own course and all the corrupt officials would face the music.
