Two fresh braid chopping incidents have sparked protests in Ganderbal area on Tuesday.
Reports said that some “unknown” persons chopped the braid of a teenage girl in Kujjar village and fled from the spot. She was later on taken to nearby Hospital for treatment and later discharged.
As the news about the incident spread, the residents took to streets and staged protests.
On Tuesday, reports from the district said that at around 6 am, unknown persons chopped the braid of a teenage girl in Arahma village.
After the incident, announcements were made on Masjid loudspeakers asking people to come out of their homes, the local sources said.
The locals later staged a protest demonstration in the area, reports added.
