Protests erupted in downtown area of Srinagar city on Tuesday against alleged braid chopping incident in the area.
Reports said that the residents of Karfali Mohalla and Nawab Bazar, mostly women took to streets against the alleged braid chopping.
They raised slogans against the alleged braid chopping.
The protesting women said that a braid chopping incident took place in Karfali Mohalla area of Habba Kadal.
To mention, braids of dozens of young girls and women has been mysteriously found chopped during the past month across valley.
Jammu and Kashmir Police has formed Special Investigation Teams to probe the incidents. However, so far the police and the authorities have been clueless.
The police have announced a reward of Rs six lakh for credible information leading to arrest of any person behind braid chopping incidents. So far, no arrests have been made.
