Fresh reports of heavy firing and shelling across the LoC were received from Krishna Ghati area of Mendhar Poonch Sunday evening.
According to KNS correspondent, heavy shelling and firing started at around 7 pm on Sunday evening in Krishna Ghati area, resulting in chaos among civilian population living near the LoC.
He said heavy mortar shells have been witnessed dropping in civilian areas of Saloutri and Ghani Balnoi villages on the LoC.
“People are terribly scared and are coming out of their houses as shells are dropping in civilian localities. Firing is still continuing”, he said on telephone. Meanwhile, a commnader level flag meeting is scheduled between armies of India and Pakistan on Monday at Chakanda Bagh. According to sources, the meeting will be represented by Brigadier D S Sandhu from the Indian side.
