SRINAGAR: The Meteorological Department has forecast the arrival of a fresh Western Disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir from the afternoon of May 10, stating that only limited weather activity is expected across the region.

Director MeT Mukhtar Ahmad said farmers may continue field operations till May 9, as weather conditions are likely to remain largely stable, with no significant rainfall expected during this period.
He added that the incoming system is expected to bring light rain, gusty winds and isolated thunderstorm activity over parts of Jammu and Kashmir on May 10, 11 and 12. However, he clarified that no major or widespread rainfall is anticipated.
Meanwhile, the Jammu region is expected to remain mostly dry, with daytime temperatures likely to witness a gradual increase over the coming days.
Officials said the system may cause brief and localised weather disturbances, but confirmed that no severe weather warning has been issued so far.
