SRINAGAR: The Jammu division is likely to receive heavy rain until Sunday afternoon, with weather conditions expected to improve thereafter, the Meteorological Centre Srinagar said in its latest forecast for Jammu and Kashmir.
According to the department, October 12 is expected to remain generally dry across the Union Territory.
Cloudy conditions are forecast from October 13 to 15, with light rain at many places and light snowfall over higher reaches. Thunderstorms and gusty winds are also likely during this period.
The department expects generally dry weather on October 16, although brief spells of light rain may occur at a few places. Dry conditions are forecast to continue from October 17 to 23.
In its advisory, the Meteorological Centre has urged farmers to continue harvesting and ensure the safe storage of harvested apples and paddy.
It has also warned of the possibility of thunderstorms and gusty winds on October 11 and during October 13–14.
