Twenty young minds of Kulgam district proceeded for an educational cum motivational tour to Mumbai-Pune with an aim to get these young children an exposure to different facets of socio- economic, educational and cultural development in our country and also enhance their knowledge base apart from spreading message of love, peace and harmony, a defence spokesman here said.
The tour was jointly flagged off by the DC & SSP Kulgam and Commander of Wuzur based Army camp. While conveying their best wishes to the children, they exhorted them to spread the message of peace and knowledge and to optimise on the wonderful opportunity to discover new horizons.
The group of students will be visiting St Xavier’s Institute of Commerce, Symbiosis College, National Defence Academy, Armed Forces Medical College, Army Sports Institute, INS Asvini besides the various entertainment avenues like water parks and malls. The tour participants will also meet and interact with senior civilian and Army officials apart from interacting with students of various schools at Pune and Mumbai.
The children were given a warm sendoff by their family, friends, teachers and other prominent citizens who were present for the ceremony, the spokesman added.
