J&K Handicrafts (Sales & Export) Corporation has recorded a sale turnover of Rs 14.27crore in 2015-16, corporation’s Board of Directors meeting was told on Wednesday. It aimed at taking the sale turnover through its showrooms to Rs 19 crore, an official spokesman said.
Managing Director who presented annual performance report apprised the Board that during the current year upto October, 2016, his Corporation has achieved 80% of its target.
Industries Minister C P Ganga whole stressing on developing and strengthening marketing linkages through exports, direct sale and expos told the Board that these are the major components for new proactive approach aimed at promotion of state’s distinct arts and crafts.
Minister deliberated on overall performance of the Corporation and urged the management to devise all possible strategies to ensure 100 percent achievement of the targets for the current year. He called for restructuring of the Corporation to increase its economic viability and self sufficiency.
The Minister emphasized on building customer trust by branding the products to be showcased at various art emporiums established in different cities. He also impressed upon the officers for utilizing the human resource to enhance sales at all outlets.
