The enforcement action covers several major brands, including Nestle India, PepsiCo, Coca-Cola India, Abbott India, Red Bull India, Danone India, Monster Energy India, Mondelez India, Ferrero India and Kenvue Inc, among others.

The FSSAI said it had stepped up action against food business operators (FBOs) for violations of food safety laws and regulations, including manufacturers of energy drinks and alcoholic beverages.

As part of the enforcement drive, the regulator said products from several companies had also been seized for alleged violations.

The FSSAI said 12 notices had been issued to e-commerce companies Amazon and Flipkart, while the licence of one Amazon warehouse had been cancelled.

More than 30 notices were also issued to food service establishments, including KFC, McDonald’s, Pizza Hut, Domino’s and Costa Coffee, the regulator said. It added that five licences of Domino’s had been suspended.

The regulator had also issued notices to several five-star hotels last year as part of its enforcement measures.

The FSSAI said several companies had begun taking corrective action following the notices issued by the regulator.
