Tourism Department Reviews Ongoing Projects, Visitor Facilities in Gurez Valley

   

SRINAGAR: The Assistant Director Tourism, Gulmarg, inspected several ongoing tourism development projects in Gurez Valley on Saturday to assess their physical progress and ensure adherence to approved specifications and quality standards.

The inspection covered the Recreational Park at Dawar, Gazebo at Habbakhatun Spring, Shelter Sheds at Sheikhpora and Tulail, and the Cafeteria at Badugam, according to the Tourism Department.

The Assistant Director was accompanied by Junior Engineers from the Roads and Buildings (R and B) Department and other concerned officials. During the visit, he reviewed the progress of the works and sought updates from field officials on the ongoing construction activities.

He directed the concerned agencies to maintain close coordination and complete the projects within the stipulated timelines while ensuring proper workmanship and compliance with prescribed quality standards.

The Assistant Director also held discussions with representatives of the Hoteliers Association and other tourism stakeholders on promoting tourism, improving visitor facilities and strengthening coordinated efforts to develop tourism activities in the valley.

The stakeholders put forward suggestions and raised issues concerning the tourism sector during the interaction.

The Tourism Department said the inspection and stakeholder meeting were part of its efforts to improve tourism infrastructure, enhance visitor facilities and strengthen coordination with local stakeholders in Gurez Valley.
