SRINAGAR: The Rotary Peace Fellowship Programme offers fully-funded fellowships for the year 2025-2026 to international participants dedicated to advancing peace. Each year, up to 90 individuals with exceptional leadership qualities are selected to receive the Rotary scholarship. These awards signify the commitment of the recipients to peacebuilding and their potential to enact meaningful change as effective advocates for peace.

The programme is sponsored by Rotary International and hosted by countries like Australia, England, USA and Japan. Through this fully-funded scholarship, candidates are provided with top-tier training and resources to become influential ambassadors of peace and highly skilled professionals in their field.

The applications are to be filled through the official website of Rotary Foundation and the deadline for the application process is May 15, 2024.

The two levels of programme include the Master’s Degree Programme and the Professional Development Certificate Programme with up to 130 international fellowships, comprising 50 fellows for Masters Degree and 80 for Certificate Studies. The Masters programme lasts 15 to 24 months and includes a two to three month field study, which participants design themselves. The professional development certificate programme lasts with duration of one-year blended learning programme.

Tuition fees will be waived. Accommodation and meals will be provided. Round-trip transportation will be arranged. All internship-related expenses will be covered. Field study expenses will be taken care of. Health insurance coverage will also be provided

Eligibility criteria of the fellowship include:

The applicants must reflect proficiency in English. Applicants should possess an excellent track record of project development. Candidates must be capable of showcasing their academic accomplishments as well as their involvement in personal or community service.

Master’s degree candidates must have completed their bachelor’s degree. For master’s degree applicants, a minimum of three years of relevant experience is required from the date of their most recent degree to the start of the fellowship programme.

Individuals currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate degree programme are not eligible. Candidates applying for the certificate programme must meet all the aforementioned requirements; however, they must have five years of relevant experience. Certificate programme candidates must articulate their proposed plan of action.

Individuals with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply. Applicants who have participated in a certificate programme or received a global grant scholarship must wait three years before applying for a master’s degree under this fellowship. Active members of Rotary, employees of Rotary Club, Rotary International, or other Rotary entities are ineligible.
