Funeral prayers in absentia held for slain Pulwama civilians, militants in Srinagar

Tehreek-e-Hurriyat (TeH) leaders and activists on Tuesday held absentia funeral prayers for the militants and civilians killed in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday.

Seven civilians were killed after forces opened fire on protesters in Sirnoo village of Pulwama following a gunfight that left three militants and a soldier dead.

Leaders and activists of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat (TeH assembled in the lawns of Jamia Masjid Hyderpora soon after the culmination of Zuhr prayers and offered funeral prayers in absentia for the slain civilians and militants killed in Pulwama. Rich tributes were paid to the slain militants and civilians after the prayers.

Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, and Yasin Malik had asked people to offer the prayers.
