SRINAGAR: The District Administration Ganderbal has issued a weather advisory, urging residents, tourists and Shri Amarnath Yatra pilgrims to remain vigilant following the India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) forecast of rain and thundershowers across Jammu and Kashmir from July 19 to July 23.
According to an advisory issued by the District Magistrate Ganderbal, people have been advised not to venture towards slopes, hilly areas or locations vulnerable to avalanches and flash floods until further orders as a precautionary measure.
The administration said the advisory has been issued in view of the weather forecast released by the Meteorological Centre Srinagar, which has warned of adverse weather conditions during the coming days.
It appealed to all residents, visitors and Shri Amarnath Yatra pilgrims travelling through Ganderbal district to exercise maximum caution and strictly follow official advisories to prevent any untoward incidents.
To ensure prompt response during any emergency, the District Administration has activated the 24×7 District Emergency Operations Centre (DEOC)/District Control Room at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Mini Secretariat, Duderhama.
