SRINAGAR: The one-way traffic movement on Srinagar-Leh highway was restored after two long closure due to a massive landslide near Bonibagh Kangan.

A police official said that the debris was cleared from the highway following which traffic movement was restored.

Earlier, Srinagar-Leh highway was temporarily closed for traffic due to landslides at Bonibagh Kangan which damaged 20 shops and residential houses worth crores.

The Border Roads Organisation (BRO), responsible for the maintenance of the highway pressed in Service its men and machines and launched clearance operation to reopen the road for traffic.

SHO Police Station Kangan Aftab Ahmad said that road was closed on Friday following a massive landslide at Bonibagh area.

He said the traffic was partially restored on the highway after the BRO pressed in service its men and machines and launched clearance operation.
