A complete shutdown is being observed on Monday on the second consecutive day in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district to mourn the killing of M.Tech student-turned-militant Rahil Rashid Sheikh of Nunar village.

Reports said that all shops, business establishments, and private offices remained closed in the town while public transport is off the roads.

Authorities had announced the closure of Government Degree College and Government Higher Secondary schools at Ganderbal and Nunar area, as a precautionary measure.

An eyewitness said forces have been deployed at many places of town in order to prevent any untoward incidents.

They said scores of people visited the home of slain militant in Nunar area to express condolences with his family.

Rahil was killed on Saturday along with his associate in Imam Sahib area of Shopian in south Kashmir.
