After an attack by ‘gau rakshaks,’ cow vigilantes on Thursday in which  at least five people including a nine-year-old girl were injured in Jammu’s Reasi district, police is yet to arrest four “identified culprits.”

While speaking with Kashmir Life  a top police official said that “after the incident an FIR was lodged and in the investigations the culprits were identified.”

The incident took place in Talwara area, while a nomad family was moving with their livestock.

As per reports, they were intercepted by a large group of gau rakshaks and beaten up to pulp. The attackers, as per reports, took away their entire flock including goat, sheep and cows.

“The identified attackers cannot be arrested at this time because it might create law and order problem,” the police official said.

The injured were admitted in a local hospital and have been discharged now.

The livestock has also been recovered and handed over to the owner, reports said.
