The water levels in Jhelum are flowing above alarm levels at both Sangam and Ram Munshibagh in Srinagar and south Kashmir, as per officials.

 

Gauge Reading at 3 pm (1500 hrs)

 

A – RIVER JHELUM

Sangam = 19.35 ft

Ram Munshibagh = 16.90 ft

Asham = 9.50 ft

 

B – TRIBUTARIES

Vishow Nallah at Khudwani = 7.14 m

Rambiyara Nallah at Vachi = 1.89 m

Lidder Nallah at Batkoot = 1.09 m

Pertinent to mention, the flood alarm is declared when the water level reaches 18 ft in Sangam, 16 ft in Ram Munshi Bagh and 13 ft in Achan.

The flood is actually declared when the water levels reach 21 ft in Sangam, 18 in Ram Munshi Bagh and 14 in Achan.

The flood is declared at danger level when the water level reaches 23 ft in Sangam, 19 ft in Ram Munshi Bagh and 15 ft at Asham.
