Hurriyat patriarch and chairperson of his faction, Syed Ali Geelani shall be releasing third volume of his self written biography, Wullar Kinaray, on May 17-Sunday- @ 1:00 pm. Two volumes of the biography are already in market and cover the life and works of Geelani from his childhood days in his native village of Zoorimanz in the then Bandipora.

The third volume which shall be released in Geelani’s residence-cum-office at Hyderpora will be attended by various scholars, writers and intellectuals.

Sources say, the third volume is set to shed light on important events in Kashmir history regarding start of armed resistance, ‘Jama’at-e-Islami and Gun’ and the ceasefire of Hizbul Mujahedeen in 2000.

“The third volume of the Wullar Kinaray discusses many important personalities like the founder and Ameer-e-Jama’at-i-Islami Jammu & Kashmir late Moulana Sad-Ud-Din, Dr Ayoub Thakur, Shaheed Advocate Hissam-Ud-din, Shaheed Abdul Aziz, Late Qazi Hussain Ahmad and Shri Shri Ravi Shankar and the author have discussed many important and interesting events of their lives,” they said.

“The barbaric killing of late Abdul Gani Lone coupled with reasons behind the partition in the Hurriyat Conference and creation of the Tehreek-e-Hurriyat has been thoroughly discussed,” they said.

The book shall also discuss the “four point formula” of former president of Pakistan General Parvaiz Musharaf.

“2008 uprising against the transfer of state land to Amarnath shrine board and people’s movement of 2010 has been thoroughly discussed in this book. The book has reserved a separate chapter for the Shaheed Mohammad Afzal Guru and has asked some striking questions to the world conscience,” a statement from Hurriyat Conference (G) said.

“Besides presenting his stand about the return of the Kashmiri Pandits to the Valley, Geelani has also conducted a post mortem of the dangerous plans of the spreading of the sectarian hatred in the state,” the statement said.

Geelani’s visits of Chenab Valley and Pirpanjal region also find their mention in the book and he has mentioned his interesting interaction with the people of Jammu region.

“This book will work as a reference book for the future generations of Kashmir,” the statement said.
