Thousands turned up to welcome Geelani

To welcome Hurriyat (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani, who returned from New Delhi on Wednesday afternoon, thousands of supporters turned up and blocked the way leading to Geelani’s Hyderpora residence.

Geelani returns to valley after spending wintry months at his New Delhi flat.

The supporters had blocked the 2km long stretch from Humhama to Hyderpora to welcome Geelani back home.

Earlier, Hurriyat (G) spokesman, Ayaz Akbar said that a resolution will also be passed on Geelani’s arrival against “this worst kind of state terrorism” in the backdrop of Tral killing.

Geelani has already called for ‘Tral Chalo’ on April 17 Friday to register protest against the “cold blooded murder of the civilian”.

When this report was filed, Geelani was addressing a massive gathering of his supporters outside his residence.
