Chief of Army Staff General Dalbir Singh Wednesday arrived on a two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir, reports said.

Gen Singh landed at Technical Airport Jammu and proceeded for Northern Command Udhampur, where he was received by the Army Commander Lt Gen DS Hooda.

“During the visit,” the reports said, “Army chief would hold interactions with officers of all ranks and also review security scenario in the state at a high-level meeting to be attended by the top brass of Army.”

Significantly, the visit has coincided with killing of Tral youth in an army action. Though army defended itself by claiming that the slain was “militant” before terming him “Hizb’s OGW”, but the state chief minister (who took two days to break his silence over the killing), said: “Army should have been cautious.”
