Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman Syed Ali Geelani has called for ‘Shopian Challo’ for south Kashmir on Tuesday to attend the condolence meeting in favour of the four persons killed in CRPF firing on September 7.

Huriyat Spokesperson said that Geelani has appealed people of the district Islamabad, Shopian, Pulwama and Kulgam to march towards Shopian on September 10 to protest the killing of the four people.

Four persons were killed in the firing incident which took place when world famous music conductor Zubin Mehta was in Srinagar.

Though police claimed that the slain were militants but the identities of the three revealed so far suggest that they were civilians. The locals said all the slain were unarmed civilians.

Three of the deceased were identified as Tawseef Ahmad Bhat, 18, son of Gulam Muhammad Bhat, resident of Baba Mohallah Shopian, Muhammad Yousuf resident of Durpora, Zainpora (a labourer) and Tariq Ahmad Mir son of Ghulam Nabi Mir, a resident of Okay, Kulgam.
