The statement issued to KNS by Hurriyat (G) condemned the arrest spree in Shopian, Bandipora and Baramulla. The spokesman of the Hurriyat further said that the people in Shopian demand the withdrawal of the CRPF camp but authorities are continuously ignoring the dissent and multiplying the agonies of the masses.
“This is the peak hour when fruit traders do their business activities, however neither the said camp is shifted nor the cases against the perpetrators are being perused,’” Geelani said.
Geelani further mentioned that the future of the students, due to the continuous imposition of curfew in Shopian, is at stake as the forthcoming exams are very near.
The issued statement mentions that Hurriyat Chairman is in contact with the senior citizens and with the students of Shopian and the way-out strategy is being prepared. “We are looking for the way-out with regards to peoples demand, fruit industry and the future of students.”
