While condemning the killing of Bashir Ahmad Bhat, Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani has called for protests on Friday.

“People should protest peacefully against the killings and the arrest spree on Friday and the Imams should also raise their voice,” Geelani said in a statement on Thursday.

Expressing deep sorrow on the killing of Bhat, Geelani said, “The killing of Bhat is intolerable and exhibits the oppressive face of India.”

He asserted that the blood of Bhat and others will not be allowed to go waste.

Appealing the people of North Kashmir to boycott the coming elections Geelani said, “We do not want the change of hands but the sole aim of our boycott policy is to send a message to Indian people and the rulers of India that Kashmiri people want complete freedom from India.”

The Lok Sabha elections in the north Kashmir are scheduled on May 7.

Geelani is undergoing house arrest ever since he arrived from New Delhi on April 16.
