Hurriyat conference (G) has called for complete shutdown on December 31 against the indiscriminate firing by troops in Pulwama and termed it a state terrorism.

Strongly criticizing the incident, Chairman Hurriyat (G) Syed Ali Geelani has extended his wholehearted sympathy with injured persons in the incident and added that the forces are so trigger happy to the extent that blood of the people of Kashmir has turned very cheap for them.

Terming the announcement of  magisterial inquiry, a good joke , Geelani said that it is nothing but to deceive and  pacify the rage of masses and added that it is understood that the state administration is not in a position to inquire about the incident and it is not denying the fact that no armed person can be examined  in court because of AFSPA.

In a  telephonic press statement from Delhi , Geelani said, “Omar Abdullah has called the year 2012 a peaceful year, but the fact is that Altaf ahmad Sood (Bonyar), Meraj u Din Hajam (Shah Gund), Aashiq Ahmad Rather ( Rafi Abad), Hilal Ahmad Dar (Aaloosa Bandipora )and Mohammad Aqib ( Balpora Shopian) and dozens of other innocent citizens were killed for no fault of theirs,”  and added no strict legal action was taken or initiated against the accused.

Geelani said that the people who were fired upon, were demanding the corpses of slain militants. “Instead attending  to  their demand the forces fired upon them without any justification,” he said, adding that “such type of state terrorism is pervading in the  state  for last 65 years and there seems no one to inquire about.”

Referring to the mass participation of people in the last rituals of slain militants,Geelani said, “it is an  eye opener for Indian rulers, Pro Indian Politicians and for state police as well,” and added that the respect and regard for these martyrs portrays that people have great regard and reverence for them and that the passions of the people are still firm and alive.
While justifying the resistance of youth, Geelani said that wherever the freedom is denied the reaction and response is same and the committed people  without taking into consideration of  their lives go ahead with their mission, “they do not learn lesson from history’’ said Geelani.

Geelani  in his appeal has asked the business community, transporters, employees, shopkeepers and  people to extend their support and make call a success.
