Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman, Syed Ali Geelani called complete shutdown on February, 9, 10 and 11, to press for the return of the remains of late Mohammad Maqbool Bhat and late Mohammad Afzal Guru.
Bhat was hanged in Tihar jail on February 11, 1984 while as Guru the Parliament attack convict was hanged last year on February 9 in the same jail.
Denying their bodies to their families, Bhat and Guru were buried in the Tihar jail premises.
“We are the heirs of thousands of Martyrs but the martyrdoms of Bhat and Guru are different,” Geelani said in a statement.
He announced that a seminar will also be held at his Hyderpora residence on February, 12, 2014 to pay homage to both Bhat and Guru.
