Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani while condoling the demise of veteran Congress leader Ghulam Rasool Kar Friday said despite political differences, he had close relations with Kar.
Gelani while talking to KNS said he has spent several years of his life with Kar and both till date used to contact each other often.
Huriyat (G) chairman conveyed his heart-felt sympathies to the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
Born in 1921 at Sopore, late Ghulam Rasool Kar was elected as a member of the Legislative Assembly in 1957. He served as Minister in State Governments from 1965 to 1971 and later from 1972 to 1975. He was also nominated to the Rajya Sabha in 1984 where he served his term till 1987 and from 1987-90 he again served as the Minister in the State Government and later was elected as Member Parliament in 1996.
