Hurriyat (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani on Saturday hailed the UN secretary general for his interest in the issue and termed it as encouraging.
The spokesman in a statement commenting over the UN Secretary-General, António Guterres reference over the UNHRC report on human rights violation in Jammu Kashmir, Syed Ali Geelani expressed hope that UNO will take steps and intervene to resolve this long pending issue as per norms laid in UN charter.
“I on behalf of people of Jammu and Kashmir express my gratitude to Guterres for his moral support to our cause,” Geelani said and expressed hope that he would play a “positive and effective role” for its peaceful settlement.
