In view of the continuous detention of Syed Ali Geelani the proposed public rally at Srinagar has been postponed. Hurriyat conference has said that the party will announce new schedule for the public rallies as its leader will be set free.
As per the official statement the rally was postponed as the authorities have denied permission to the senior separatist leader.
“Police has launched a hunt for Peer Saif Ullah and others and their houses are being raided and several party workers were arrested and lodged in police stations,” reads the statement.
A meeting was convened at its party head quarters Saturday in Hyderpora where recent restrictions against the proposed public rallies at Tral, Bandipora, Srinagar and the consequent results and further strategies were discussed in detail. The meeting was chaired by its chairman Geelani.
