The condition of Hurriyat Conference (g) chairman Syed Ali Geelani who Thursday suffered heart attack at his New Delhi’s Malviya Nagara residence is said to be stable.

The doctors treating him have informed Geelani’s family that he is recovering, but the process is slow.

Earlier, Geelani suffered a heart attack after returning home from Escorts Hospital after a routine health check-up. He shortly complained a chest pain, following which his daughter drove him to Max Hospital where he was immediately shifted to ICU.

The family sources told Kashmir Life that the octogenarian leader had suffered a massive heart attack following which he was shifted to ICU. “His blood pressure had shot up, but doctors told us that he is recovering and is stable. He is still in the ICU.”

Earlier on Feb 6, Geelani had left for Delhi for a routine health check-up. He is suffering from an acute chest infection. But unlike past, this year, he left a bit late. His condition throughout remained under close medical watch. He was twice given oxygen therapy after his condition deteriorated at his Hyderpora residence.

Meanwhile, his family and party workers have left for Delhi.
